EasyAccess ZTNA Browser Extension

1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy describes how the EasyAccess ZTNA Browser Extension (the "Extension"), developed by NexaTech Consulting (PTY) LTD ("we", "us", "our"), handles user data. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about our data practices.

In short: The Extension does not collect, store, transmit, or share any personal data. It communicates exclusively with the EasyAccess ZTNA desktop client running on your local machine (localhost).

2. What the Extension Does

The Extension is a companion to the EasyAccess ZTNA desktop client. Its single purpose is to configure the browser's proxy settings so that traffic matching administrator-defined whitelist rules is routed through the desktop client's secure SOCKS5 tunnel to corporate resources.

The Extension:

Communicates with the locally running desktop client via HTTP on 127.0.0.1 (ports 19876–19880)
Reads connection status, authentication state, and proxy routing rules from the local client
Applies a PAC (Proxy Auto-Configuration) script to the browser's proxy settings
Displays connection status and routing information in a toolbar popup

3. Data We Do NOT Collect

The Extension does not collect any of the following:

4. Data Stored Locally

The Extension uses the browser's local storage API (chrome.storage.local) to cache non-sensitive connection state so the popup can display information immediately upon opening. This data includes:

Server URL and connection status
Username (display name only, as provided by the desktop client)
Active service name and routing rule count
Timestamp of the last sync

This data is stored only on your local device, within the browser's extension storage area. It is never transmitted to any external server, third party, or analytics service.

5. Network Communication

The Extension makes HTTP requests only to the following local endpoints:

http://plugin.api.ztna.local:{19876-19880}/api/*
http://127.0.0.1:{19876-19880}/api/*

These are localhost addresses served by the EasyAccess ZTNA desktop client running on your machine. The Extension does not make any requests to external servers, remote APIs, or third-party services.

6. Permissions

The Extension requests the following browser permissions, each essential to its single purpose:

proxy — to configure the browser's proxy settings via a PAC script
storage — to cache connection state locally for instant popup display
alarms — to periodically sync proxy configuration with the desktop client
Host permissions (localhost only) — to communicate with the desktop client's local API

7. Third-Party Services

The Extension does not integrate with any third-party services, analytics platforms, advertising networks, or tracking tools. No data is shared with any third party.

8. Data Sale and Transfer

We certify that:

We do not sell or transfer user data to third parties, outside of approved use cases.
We do not use or transfer user data for purposes unrelated to the Extension's single purpose.
We do not use or transfer user data to determine creditworthiness or for lending purposes.

9. Children's Privacy

The Extension is designed for enterprise use and is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated effective date. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
